Our aquaculture program area began as Project DIBS in
August, 2006. Started with less than a dozen hobbyists
in Houston, TX, Project DIBS has rapidly expanded. As of
April, 2008, our aquaculture program area now consists
of over 700 volunteers and online community members in
27 states and 10 countries. Our membership includes
research scientists, teachers, aquarists, business
owners and hobbyists. With over 100 registered Breeders
and more than 15 species being researched or cultured,
the program area continues to expand rapidly.
